  • Rate of charge

  • Rate of discharge

  • Ambient temperature

  • Depth of discharge

  • DC to DC round trip efficiency

  • All of which affect roundtrip DC to AC efficiency, capacity, cycle life and therefore cost

  • Making deployment challenging and therefore limiting the ability to use storage effectively to improve capacity, integrate renewables, add resilience and reliability
